Worth a visit in Bergamo

Bergamo is a stunning City split on two levels 'Bergamo Alta' and 'Bassa' and can been seen as you come to land at Bergamo Orio airport.
Alta is a stereo typical ancient Italian mountain top Town that can be reached by the Funicular (mountain side railway) foot or bus, and is steeped in history.
You will not believe the view when you reach the top, but it's certainly worth a couple of hours of your time and take some pic's! In Alta, there is bars, restaurants, clothes stores, gelateria's and even a good old fashioned Irish pub (as always).
Bassa is a lot more modern in style, but still has many beautiful businesses that lead you from the station up to the main pedestrian route, and then onto the steep cobbled streets of Alta.
It's worth checking out a few places along the way.
Near to the station is the famous 'Grom' gelateria  just a few hundred metres away from the bus station on Viale Papa Giovanni XXIII, the disputed number one ice cream chain is all over Milan, and now Bergamo.
For a good old fashioned English style pub is 'The Ritual' located on Via San Francesco, more or less on the opposite side of the 'Viale Papa Gio' to 'Grom'.  The pub does Guinness, a few Chiarra beers (clear) and food in all shapes and sizes. If your missing the UK, certainly worth a bash.
If your missing some other home comforts from the UK, 'Sweet Irene' a very cute cafe that sells some traditional English desserts, pies, teas and scones. This a really cute place to visit and located on the cobbled streets leading upto 'Bergamo Alta'.
